Danielle Hicks is a full-time high school English teacher and the creator behind English Classroom Architect, where she designs curriculum for English teachers who want intellectually rigorous, systems-based work.

Her approach centers on making the invisible process between reading and writing visible to students, through frameworks including SPECTRUM (literary analysis) and Rooted Meaning (morpheme-based conceptual vocabulary). Her overarching philosophy centers on sustainable practices that prevent burnout without sacrificing rigor.

Her writing on AI literacy, morphology, and sustainable teaching appears on her podcast Anti-Burnout for English Teachers and her Substack, The English Teacher Design Stack.

Outside of the classroom, Danielle can be found watching competition-based reality TV without apology, chasing her son around, and coaching track.
